Seit 20 Jahren verabschieden wir uns von Euch im Juni beim Zürcher Fechtmarathon mit einem grossen Dank für Eure Treue und in Vorfreude darauf, Euch in einem Jahr wieder zu sehen.
Bei der Bewerbung des Zürcher Fechtmarathons 2020 im Februar, haben wir nicht daran geglaubt, dass das Turnier aufgrund äusserer Umstände nicht stattfinden könnte. Nun unterbricht Covid19 die Geschichte unseres Fechtturniers und wir müssen Euch leider mitteilen, dass der Anlass 2020 und 2021 nicht stattfinden kann. Wir bedauern dies sehr, freuen uns aber gleichzeitig über das Commitment unseres Organisationskomitees, den Fechtmarathon im nächsten Jahr, Mitte Juni, wieder durchführen zu wollen.
Weitere Angaben folgen, wie Ihr das gewohnt seid, wenn das neue Jahr beginnt.

Chères escrimeuses, chers escrimeurs
Lorsque nous nous étions dit au revoir à la fin du Marathon d'Escrime de Zurich 2019, comme nous avons l’habitude de le faire chaque année, personne n’aurait pu anticiper qu’une force majeure allait venir bouleverser la planète en 2020.
Maintenant, Covid19 interrompt l'histoire de notre tournoi d'escrime et nous devons malheureusement vous informer que l'événement ne peut pas avoir lieu cette année. Nous regrettons énormément ce coup de théâtre, mais ayant essayé jusqu’à la fin de défendre l’héritage du tournois, nous nous voyons à l’heure actuelle forcés d’annuler les éditions 2020 et 2021. Tout le comité d’organisation est cependant en train de planifier et d’organiser la prochaine édition du Marathon d'Escrime qui aura lieu en juin de l'année prochaine.
De plus amples détails suivront, comme vous en avez l'habitude au début de l’année prochaine.

For the last 20 years we have been saying goodbye to you at the Zurich Fencing Marathon in June with a big thank you for your dedication and the excitement of seeing you again in a year.
When we advertised the 2020 Zurich Fencing Marathon at the end of February, we did not expect that the tournament could not take place due to a force majeure. Now Covid19 is interrupting the history of the Zurich Fencing Marathon and unfortunately we have to inform you that the tournament cannot take place in 2020 an not even in 2021. We regret this very much, but at the same time we are delighted about the commitment of our organizing committee to host the Fencing Marathon again next year, in June.
Further details will follow, as usual when the new year begins.
